Things I am Thankful For

As it is November, the month of Thanksgiving, I think it is fitting to post a list of things I am thankful for in my life right now. I'm going to try and think of creative things and not just say all the norms (Gospel, family, friends, ect) Which are all wonderful things that I am VERY thankful for, and I would have nothing without those. But those are pretty much a given and there are other things that I make life wonderful and should be recognized.

1. Laughter- This picture is one of the most ridiculous pictures ever, but it makes me laugh every time I look at it. And I remember all the times I laugh when I am with these people. Especially, this summer. We had good times. These people aren't the only people that make me laugh. Lots of people and things make me laugh. I just love laughing. It makes life much more enjoyable.

2. Children- Kids can always bring a smile to a face. They are so full of Christ's light and have a way of making life better. And kids really do say the darnest things. Which helps bring about laughter. :)

3. Books- I love to read. And I am so thankful for author's that can create another world that their readers can escape to. And lets be honest I REALLY love Harry Potter. It's my favorite. (And if I can just put a plug in to look at my mugglenet's fan of the week profile. I'm very proud. one of my greatest accomplishments) But seriously, without books life would be sad.

4. Nature- Spending time outdoors is one of my favorite things. The mountains are so peaceful and beautiful and you can really appreciate God's creations when you are up in the mountains. Hiking and camping are the best parts of summer, and I really love summer! :)

5. Acting like a child- In the good way, not the bad way- like throwing tantrums and such. But the being able to do fun things and not even care. I guess a better name for this would be being myself. If it be going to a resturaunt and wearing the child's pirate hats, playing drinking games with lemonade until 4am (the people pictured in the laughter photo made this one possible. :) good times.), coloring in coloring books and hanging the pictures on the wall at work, going to cartoon movies by myself, playing at the park, and finding joy in the little things.
There are SO many other things I am thankful for. I could go on and on: music, football, movies, sleeping, RAIN, chocolate, Neville (my car), other sports, BYU, crunchy leaves, medicine, jr bacon cheese burgers, pictures, games, and so much more. I love life! I am so thankful for where I am and the people that are in my life. At different points in my life I have been so blessed to have the right people around me to make me feel loved and to learn and grow. This month really makes you think about your life and helps you see how truly blessed you are. Yay for life!
***On a side note I am counting down the days till Thanksgiving break! When my best friend gets married and I get to go home! It's going to be a wonderful break!

The Tuckers Come to Town

A few weeks ago (its been a crazy busy time) my family came into town. It was wonderful. My family rocks. My mom and sisters came on sunday and then my dad flew in on friday. It was great spending time with them and showing them around Provo. I love my family and miss them so much. I took them to my favorite places to eat that they don't have back home (Tucanos and Sensous Sandwich). We spent time in Salt Lake at Temple Square and the Gateway. And we spent time with my extended family that lives here. Family is awesome. :) haha
And this week most of the Tucker side of the family was in town, besides my immediate family and my dad's older brother. It was great to spend time with them. Although, the reason while they were here is kinda sad it ended up being a really good weekend. I have come to know that family is really important and such a great support system. I'm so thankful for my amazing immediate and extended family. :D

A Day to go Down in History: Feb 28, 2009

HELLO!
6:00am- woke up6:30am- got in line for the BYU v Utah game
This time was spent sitting in my camp chair being cold. Rachel and I brought all these things to do and food but it was too cold so we just sat. I say that, but the time actually went by really fast. The next thing I knew it was 10 and I had to go to Luau practice. Luau was fun and then I went back to sitting in line.
1:30pm- they open the doors and its a rush to the student section.
We sat in row 13. We were happy about that. The time moved slower once we were in the Mariott Center, but it was so exciting!
3:00pm- the game started.
So fun. I screamed, jumped up and down, twrilled my towel...I loved it! And then the best news: I was on the screen in the Marriot Center. It has been one of my goals, and now it is accomplished. I was so excited about it. In the end the Cougars won and it was a happy day. :)

best friends

hello,
my good (he was considered a best) friend and i were talking tonight and the subject of best friends came up. we always disagree when this comes up. and let me tell you how. he says you cannot have more than one best friend and i disagree. so i came up with having a best "church" friend, a best "school" friend, a best "provo" friend, a best "guy" friend, and so on. then he made a point that did get me thinking. he said something along the lines of "having more than one best friend defeats the purpose of best". which best does mean above the rest so i almost agreed. i don't want to use the term "best friend" loosely, but i still have more than one. i could never choose between courtney and michelle, so how do you explain that? they are my best friends...both of them. they are the best, above the rest. and then there are my friends in provo. i have the most wonderful group of friends in provo. but i guess they can't be my best friends because that spot is already over booked. i really do think i am not going to use the term "best friend" so loosely. i want it to be special. but still i have to say it about more than one person. just something for me to think about.
goodbye
ps: the good friend i had this discussion with is still considered a best :) haha

25 random things...

hello,
being sick sucks. and i've been really sick for days. i just lay in bed all day. so i decided to do the new facebook craze, the list of 25 random things. i did it and now i am going to post it on my blog. because i want to.
1. I have an obsessive personality. My obsessions/addictions include Harry Potter, the Beatles, Batman, Dr. Pepper, and Kung Fu Panda
2. Ever since I was little I have always wanted to go to all 50 states. I blame this on my parents. We keep a count in my family. I am at 28, so I still have a ways to go.
3.When I was a kid I thought in the song I Am a Child of God that the words were “with parents kind of weird” instead of “with parents kind and dear”. (One more cute kid thing of mine- my first word besides “mama” and “dada” was “touchdown” and I would throw my hands up in the air. Yes I was dang cute. And my love for football started young)
4. I turn the spoon upside down when I eat ice cream. It's weird, and my mom thinks its disgusting. But it's a habit.
5. Most of the time my clothes don't match. I love tie-dye, plaid, and neon. My favorite article of clothing is sweatshirts.
6. Three stuffed animals sit on the corner of my bed. They are Polar Bear, Paco the Panda, and Bambi.
7. I don't like using public restrooms, but who really does. Anyways, when I have to I will only use an even number stall.
8. I secretly wish I had a musical talent. I regret dropping piano lessons when I was little. I really wish I could play the drums. But it would be nice if I could even sing.
9. If a word has multiple ms and/or ns in it I have trouble pronouncing it. For example when it was about to be the year 2000 I had to practice “millennium” for a long time. I still cannot say “aluminum”. And if I am not really thinking about it I will say “aminal” instead of “animal”. Just a few examples.
10. I love to color in coloring books. It's my favorite. (I'll mail you a picture if you want.)
11. I don’t like shoes. If I could I would be barefoot all the time. In the summer unless I am going to a public place I will not wear shoes. Even in the winter I will run to the mailbox or take the garbage out without shoes on.
12. My sisiter and I get the giggles bad. When we start we cannot stop. Some of my favorite childhood memories are us just laughing and I can't remember why.
13. I will not step on a manhole or anything of that sort. I will deliberately go out of my way to avoid. I will jump it, whatever it takes to not step on the death trap.
14. I love water. Swimming is a favorite pastime in the summer. Rain is one of my most favorite things. Slip-n-slides are a must during the summer. Days spent on the beach are the best days. 15. I get annoyed, probably too much and too easily, when people do things loudly when they could just as easily do it quietly… eating, drinking, walking, pretty much anything.
16. I like to do random things. My two best friends and I always end up doing random things. And that's when we have the most fun.
17. I love searching random facts on the internet, mostly about animals. I think animals are really cool when reading about them or if they are behind cages. But domestic animals scare me.
18. I love dirt. Nothing beats playing on a big pile of dirt.
19. I am terrified of windows at night. I have gotten better. But I still just don't look at them.
20. Big city life fascinates me, but I am a small town girl at heart. I don’t like big crowds and I get flustered in them.
21.I love amusement parks. The thrill of being on a rollercoaster is one of the best feelings.
22. I love movies. And I obsess over them (see #1). I will watch the same movie every day for weeks. I don't get to do this much anymore because I don't have time...
23. As the Beatles song says “I get by with a little help from my friends”. These words ring true in my life. I have a lot of best friends and I don’t know what I would do without them.
24. My family rocks…immediate and extended. If you don’t know my parents you should. They are the funniest and funnest people ever. I also have the two best little sisters anyone could ask for.
25. I am pretty much really cool. Probably one of the coolest people ever. And I like to talk about myself (as you can see). But, no worries, I am not conceited. :D
yep... i followed the crowd. i usually don't like doing those things. but it was fun. haha. anyways, i'm exhausted again. i don't like this sick thing.
good-bye

life happens

hello
so life is funny sometimes. some of those times i don't really find it funny at the time. but you have to live with it. for example i have taken my car into the shop 3 times in the last week and a half. funny? the first time it was good for a week. this is what happened. i was driving to orem to my cousin's house and it overheated. yipee do da day. my cousin and my two cousin's husbands nicely came and picked me up. i was so grateful to have family around to come get me when i was stranded. the next day my cousin and her husband picked me up and we went and got my car. my cousin's husband looked at it and tried to fix it. well it was still overheating so we took it into the shop. they called and couldnt get the car to overheat after they got an air bubble out from something my cousin's husband had been fixing. (i dont know that much about cars and dont retain the info people tell me) so they changed the coolant and the car was working. tuesday night i am getting into my car and the backseat door will not close. its just open. wow. my luck is so great. so i have to take my car in again wednesday morning. everyone besides me finds this hilarious. i do find some humor in it and i will find more later when it doesn't make me so upset. the things just keep getting piled on. but its okay because life happens.
good-bye

i get by with a little help from my friends...

hello
i am not going to lie, i have some pretty amazing friends. we have so much fun, but it's more than that. a simple night of food, games, and bowling was turned into one of the best nights. we started the night out with a good dinner at los hermanos. then we played harry potter clue (my new favorite game!) and nertz (my old favorite game!). we got a little competitive...okay i got a little competitive, but we still love each other. :) then it was off to bowling. a seriously fun game (or two) of bowling. i love my friends and am so grateful for them!

our bowling shoes!

the crazy girlsBFFs forever laughing is our favorite

life is so much better when you have great friends. and i am glad to say that i do have great friends. they really do help me get by... i couldn't ask for better friends. (cheesy i know ha)

still stuck on this traveling thing

I've been to 28 of the 50 states... a little more than half. I still have a lot to go, but I think its a pretty good start. One of my life goals is to visit all 50.
They are:
Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming
I've been to 5 1/2 countries. (half because I didn't leave the airport but they still stamped my passport. I don't really feel like I can count it though)
United States (of course haha)
Canada
Mexico
Italy
Spain
Germany is the half

oh the places I want to go

I want to travel. Its my biggest dream. I want to go all over. See all the amazing places and experience many of the cultures of this world.
My top places I want to travel to:
England--most my obessions come from this wonderful country. (the Beatles, Harry Potter) also I am a history buff and there is so much history there.
New Zealand--the pictures I have seen look beautiful and there are so many fun adventures that could be had there.
Africa--I know its a huge dream, but I really would love to go on an African safari... I even looked up prices and things online when I was in high school
Those are just my top 3 places. But really I would love to go anywhere, especially right now...
I am ready for an adventure, a change... There are just a few things that get in the way.
